About the travel plan
Thorpe Park was one of the first mixed used development sites in the UK to benefit from what is called a travel plan.
A travel plan is a package of measures aimed at promoting sustainable travel within a development, with an emphasis on reducing reliance upon single occupancy car travel. It involves the development of a set of mechanisms and initiatives that together can enable organisations to reduce the impact of travel and transport on the environment, whilst also bringing a number of other benefits to an organisation as an employer, and to staff.
Managed by a Travel Plan Manager, the Thorpe Park travel plan contains a range of initiatives such as free car share scheme for use by all staff, local cycle discounts, marketing of public transport options, and much more.
For further information on the travel plan a Thorpe Park Travel Plan Guide is available in electronic format by contacting the travel plan manager at john.hacker@travelplanservices.co.uk
